Der gemeinnützige Verein Generation Europa wurde im Sommer 2010 mit dem Ziel gegründet, Europäerinnen und Europäern einen institutionellen Rahmen zur Umsetzung gesellschaftsrelevanter Projektarbeit zu bieten.
Leitgedanke der Plattform ist die Förderung gesellschaftlichen Potenzials, vor dem Hintergrund eines neuen Verständnisses von Identität. Für viele WeltbürgerInnen steht dabei nicht mehr die Zugehörigkeit zu einem Nationalstaat im Vordergrund, sondern gemeinsame Werte und die individuellen Qualitäten des Individuums. Mobilität, kulturelle Vielfalt und Mehrsprachigkeit empfinden wir nicht als Barrieren oder Probleme sondern vielmehr als Basis und Reichtum einer neuen Generation. Dieses neue Selbstverständnis ist es, das gänzlich neue Chancen zur aktiven Mitgestaltung von Gesellschaft bietet.
Den Vereinsstatuten entsprechend, können die Vorhaben des Vereins sowohl wissenschaftlicher (Organisation und Teilnahme an internationalen Konferenzen, Erarbeitung von Arbeitspapieren etc.) als auch praxisorientierter oder kultureller Natur (Fotowettbewerbe, Austellungen, Internet-Plattformen etc.) sein.
Kreatives Potential zu fördern und Gesellschaft neu zu denken, dazu laden wir, die Mitglieder der Plattform Generation Europa, alle InteressentInnen herzlich ein. Lasst uns Ideen gemeinsam feiern!

The non-profit association „Generation Europa“ was established in summer 2010. Its main aim is to offer people in Europe an institutional framework for realizing projects concerning various aspects of society
The basic idea of the platform is the promotion of societal potential, against the background of a new understanding of identity. For many people in Europe and around the world the concept of national states is not sufficient and fitting anymore which demands the prioritization of common values and individual qualities of each human being. Mobility, cultural diversity and lingual pluralism are perceived not as barriers or problems but instead as a basis and wealth of a new generation. This new understanding offers new chances for active co-determination in society.
Corresponding with the associations statutes the associations activities can be either of scientific (organization of and participation in international conferences and researches) or practical nature as well as cultural (photo-competitions, exhibitions, internet-platforms, festivals etc.).
